Tim Fitch is serving his first term representing the St. Louis County citizens of the 3rd County Council District. He was first elected to a four-year term in November 2018. Council Member Fitch is a Member of the Committee of the Whole.
Chief Fitch retired from active law enforcement on January 31, 2014 after completing a 34-year police career. 31 years of his career was with the St. Louis County Police Department, with the last five years serving as the Chief of Police. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Truman State University and a Master of Management degree from Fontbonne University. Chief Fitch is currently working in the private sector as the Manager of Global Security for Emerson in St. Louis, as well being the owner of The Fitch Group, LLC, a public safety consulting business.
Chief Fitch serves on the Board of Directors for the USO at St. Louis-Lambert Airport, SSM St. Clare Hospital, Fontbonne University and the Fraternal Order of Police Shield of Hope Foundation. Chief Fitch is the law enforcement representative on the Child Safety Review Board for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. He is a Commissioner appointed by the St. Louis County Executive to the St. Louis Metropolitan Taxicab Commission.
Chief Fitch has been married for more than 30 years to his wife Ruth, who is a R.N. for General Electric’s Healthcare Division. They have two children, Sarah and Ryan, who are both married. Tim and Ruth are expecting their first grandchild in June 2017.
