Emerging Technology and the Law
The explosion of new technologies used to support security efforts may raise a range of legal concerns because the law is slow to keep up with technology developments. Some of these technologies have ignited mixed reactions from courts and legislatures. The public has also expressed concern about the use of sensors and the potential misuse of the data they collect. In some cases, technologies adopted and deployed by an enterprise may subsequently be prohibited. Examine recent technology developments and the legal and legislative approaches that can affect their use.
