Lieutenant Brad Kelling
Lt. Kelling is a 24-Year veteran of the St. Louis County Police Department. He received his Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from Central Missouri State University. He began his employment with the St. Louis County Police Department as a Patrolman in South County. He was later assigned to the Community Action Team and then to the Tactical Operations Unit. He was promoted to Sergeant assigned to the North Precinct and then to the Division of Operational Support where he was assigned as the Basic Training Supervisor for the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy. Lt. Kelling was later assigned as Sergeant of the K9 Unit until his promotion to Lieutenant. He was then assigned as Watch Commander for the North County Precinct and the Affton Southwest Precinct. He has presented this topic and others to over 10,000 Business, School, Church and Community members.
Colonel Steven Lewis
Colonel Steven Lewis has been in Law Enforcement for over 30 Years and currently serves as the
Chief of Police in Ellisville, Missouri. He is a recognized expert in the area of Personal Safety, Crime Prevention, Terrorism Prevention and Response to Weapons of Mass Destruction. He has presented these topics and others to over 10,000 Business, School and Community members.
The active shooter course is intended to be an awareness level course which examines the modern threat of active shooters and their methodology. This course will include an introduction to the 4-E program utilizing the tenants of 4-E (Educate, Escape, Evade and Engage) and providing enough information that the participant can return to their respective entity and discuss lifesaving response methods. Basic scenario and response modalities will be examined in an overview capacity and will not include hands on training. The 4E program and its instructors are recognized throughout the United States for their realistic approach to training and providing real world solutions that work during the most severe and demanding of environments.
